Dooley won't pressure Mullins over return

Offaly hurling boss Joe Dooley has insisted that he will not be pressuring veteran goalkeeper Brian Mullins, while he decides whether not he is going to return to the Faithful fold this season.

With the National Hurling League set to commence in just over two weeks' time, the Birr net-minder has not been at any of Offaly's training sessions since the New Year and has made no clear indication to Dooley of his plans as of yet.

"I spoke to Brian a few weeks ago and he was still undecided," said Dooley. "We'd love to have him back and remain hopeful, but he is taking some time out to ponder his future and I understand that completely. I am not putting any pressure on him."

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Brendan Walsh will miss next weekend's Walsh Cup semi-final for Offaly against Galway with a hamstring problem which could rule him out of the early stages of the league as well.
