Cork hurling manager Denis Walsh
Cork manager Denis Walsh admitted that he wouldn't have minded an extra game in the Waterford Crystal Cup, but following the defeat to UCC, he is already planning ahead for the league. An inexperienced Cork side lost by five points to a strong student selection and although there was little to take from the game, Walsh was happy enough with the performance. "I was pleased enough overall, particularly with the way we dictated the game in the first half," said Walsh. "We would have welcomed another game in it, but we are out of it now, so we can go away over the next few weeks and consider what we are going to do. "We have a couple of challenge games lined up against lined up against Clare in Fermoy on February 6th, and against Waterford in Riverstown, a week later, which will be very useful leading into the league."
