Brennan calls for 200% improvement

Derry manager John Brennan
John Brennan insists Derry will have to improve threefold to have any chance against Tyrone.

The Oak Leafers lost their league opener to Galway at Celtic Park last weekend while the O'Neill County recorded a stunning victory over Kildare at Croke Park. And, as the Ulster big guns prepare to face off in a mouth-watering derby at Healy Park this Sunday, Brennan tells the Irish News:

"Irrespective of who we play next week - it could be Kildare away, Meath away, any of those teams - we know it's a mammoth task to go to these teams.

"So we're going to have to improve, I was going to say 100% ... but maybe 200%.

"We've gotten away from doing the simple things properly and maybe fitness could be better. It's hard to put your finger on it; fitness in areas is a problem.

"We'll try and get things going again. We've another very, very difficult assignment against Tyrone in Omagh."
