Banty "absolutely delighted"

Meath manager Seamus McEnaney greets his Monaghan counterpart Eamonn McEneaney for the opening round of the NFL Div 2 at Pairc Tailteann.
Seamus McEnaney was buzzing after Meath's victory over his former Monaghan charges in Navan on Saturday night.

"I am absolutely delighted," the Royal County boss enthused.

"It always means a lot for me when the group of players that I am managing fronts up to the challenge, puts up a serious performance with pride in the jersey, and I think Meath gave us all of that.

"They came out and fronted up to the challenge, working tremendously hard and for me 1-15 is a very good score in February. I think in the 10 minutes after the Monaghan goal we won the game. We replied with five points and were one-up at half-time and we scored two after.

"I think in that 14- or 15-minute period we won the game. We got a point within a minute of their goal and that was very important. We came here with a system that we felt would beat Monaghan.

"It is fair to say I am well used to the Monaghan players and we knew that the system would work, and I am delighted that it did."
