Conway red card overturned

Derry's James Conway is sent off by referee Martin Higgins during the McKenna Cup Final.
Derry have won their appeal against James Conway's red card against Tyrone in the Dr McKenna Cup.

The Derry midfielder was dismissed in the first half of last weekend's final when the Oak Leaf County were in a commanding position, but Tyrone used the numerical advantage and went on to win the match.

Conway looked bemused when he received the red card for an off the ball incident and went to protest his innocence to the match officials at half time.

However, Derry appealed to Ulster Council's CCCC, who decided to overturn the decision after video evidence cleared Conway of any wrongdoing.
