Doyle set to top scoring charts

Kildare's John Doyle
Kildare's Johnny Doyle looks certain to finish as the football championship's leading scorer.
Doyle, who cut a disconsolate figure after last Sunday's heartbreaking All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Down, overtook Dublin's Bernard Brogan with a 0-6 haul which brings his total for the championship to 1-49 (52). Brogan had been top of the scoring charts with 3-42 (51) before last weekend's second All-Ireland semi-final.
Cork's Daniel Goulding and Down's Martin Clarke will need to produce exceptional scoring performances in the All-Ireland final if they are knock Doyle off top spot. Goulding is Cork's top-scorer with 1-34 (37), while Clarke has posted 1-27 (30) in his debut season for the Mournemen.
Tyrone's Stephen O'Neill holds the record for the most scored in a championship campaign. He shot 5-49 (64) in the Red Hands' march to All-Ireland glory five years ago.
