Kilmore condemn Pearses to relegation dogfight

How the mighty have fallen! Last year's Roscommon SFC runners-up Padraig Pearses are facing a relegation playoff after suffering a surprise 0-10 to 0-11 defeat to Kilmore last weekend.

Kilmore goalkeeper Jason McEvoy's last-gasp '45' handed his side a dramatic victory and condemned Pearses to a relegation playoff against either Kilbride or Strokestown. Kilbride played out a 3-9 to 1-15 draw with Western Gaels, while Strokestown lost out to Elphin by 1-8 to 2-8.

All-Ireland club champions St. Brigid's are still the team to beat judging by their 2-21 to 0-8 demolition of St. Aidan's in Johnstown.

County star Donie Shine scored the only goal as Clann na nGael chalked up a 1-12 to 0-12 victory over a St. Faithleach's team managed by former star Clann defender Enon Gavin.

Joining them in the quarter-finals will be Roscommon Gaels who accounted for Castlerea St. Kevin's on a 0-15 to 0-9 scoreline.
