Rathkenny were deserving semi finalists last year and the standard has dropped a lot since then so they have as much of a chance as anyone else

Curraha have announced there new manger, Johnny Magee the former Dublin and Kilmacud Crokes player. He is the brother of Darren Magee. Some appointment by Curraha. He is now living in Ashbourne so that is why they got him.

Hearing that Damien Sheridan has been installed as manager at St. Ultans.. Further a field, any word on Cortown?

I also heard Seamus Kiernan is going to St. Brigids of Ballinacree in the new year? Highly doubt this is true, he did a superb job at Oldcastle. Won the intermediate championship in 2009 with them, amongst other success. Maybe it is true but I could not imagine him going down the road to Ballinacree, they dont seem to be up to much operating in Junior A.

Have not been on here in a while time but 'moylagh4junior' might have an insight on this?

rocknroyal Seamus Kiernan will be training Ballinlough next year... Kiernan is a top class manager and won a IFC, Feis Cup and Division 3 League with Oldcastle and they gained promotion to Div. 1 last year; good appointment by BLough. Carnaross and St. Michaels are hoping to appoint managers from within their own clubs but I dont think anything has been confirmed again, Carnaross had a very good management team at U-21 level and got a great response from the players so maybe they will try and get the same management team for their first team.... Jody Devine will be training Kells again.

Cheers lads, I was mis-informed so. Indeed Thunderstruck thats a great appointment by Ballinlough, they were very unlucky this year, fancied them to beat Gaeil Colmcille but it didn't happen for them. Another day they would have beaten Kells. When I heard the Ballinlough manager left I had a sneaky feeling Devine would come home and pick up the role!

For me, Carnaross and St. Michaels are now part of the weaker teams in Intermediate. Intermediate grade is a yo-yo for teams.

I'll have my bet on Ballinlough for the intermediate next year! Kiernan knows the story!

Some of the comments about Rathkenny are a little harsh I feel. The standard of our senior championship is very low and has been wide open in the last few years. Just look at Skyrne last year and Dunshaughlin and Summerhill this year. And Rathkenny were only a point or two off Seneschalstown in the semi final two years ago and if memory serves me correct they kicked away that game. So in reality they are not that far off. Maybe just short a prolific scoring forward. Getting Tony Kearney in is a huge coup for Rathkenny and his record speaks for itself (in both Meath and Louth).
