The Meath Cumann na mBunscol Girls football finals took place in Pairc Tailteann. There were seven titles up for grabs.
Gilson NS Oldcastle and Donore NS will have to do it all over again after this very entertaining draw in the second final of the day the Division 2/3 Shield.
Gilson NS Oldcastle 1-10 Donore NS 3-4
The Oldcsatle girls got a great start and playing with the elements hit six unanswered points in the opening ten minutes through Zara Gilsenan, team captain Ava Eager (3), Grainne Gibney and Leanne Moore. The large Gilson school following were stunned by two quick fire goals from Donore's Clodagh Marie O'Brien and Ciara Moonan and a point from Louise Craven gave them a surprise lead heading in to the final minutes. Oldcastle recovered and a hat trick of points from Eager gave them a 0-9 to 2-1 interval lead.
It was now Donore's turn to have the wind and 1-2 from Louise Craven in the opening ten minutes had them ahead. Gilson NS needed a score and Rebeca Buliga duly obliged with a goal to put them in front 1-10 to 3-3. Just when it seemed that the title was heading to the north Meath school Julie Green sent over the equaliser for Donore.
