Meath qualified for the Kehoe Cup semi final with a comfortable win over Wicklow at a windswept Lomans Park Trim.

Meath 2-17
Wicklow 0-5

Wicklow played with the gale force wind in the opening half and were only a point in arrears at the break 0-6 to 0-5. With fifteen minutes gone Meath held a 0-4 to 0-3 lead when Wicklow full back Graham Keogh was handed a red card by referee Justin Heffernan.

The wind increased in the second half and Meath totally dominated. Wicklow failed to score in this half and were down to 13 men after 15 minutes when midfielder Stephen Kelly was sent off for a second yellow card offence. As in the opening round against St Pats of Drumcondra Peter Durnin took the scoring honours with 1-4 in this period, his goal coming after 10 minutes to give Meath a 1-9 to 0-5 lead. As the game entered the closing stages Gary Kelly got in for Meath's second goal to give the Royals a very comfortable win.

Meath centre back Damien Healy will be a major doubt for the semi final after he was forced to leave the field of play in the first half with a rib injury.

The Royals play Derry in the semi final.
