Lucan Sarsfields have turned to Gordon Ward to take the reins of their senior football team in 2016.
The Kildare native takes on the Sars after parting company with Meath outfit Wolfe Tones last year.
His managerial CV also includes a spell with St Peregrine's in Dublin, as well as Dunshaughlin, Blackhall Gaels and St Michael's, and he is targeting a semi-final spot in his first year at the helm.
"I'm delighted. I see them as being a real contender in Dublin. They are a huge club with a serious tradition," he told Gazette Sport.
"They have exited the competition at the quarter final stage for the last three years, with the last two coming at the hands of current champions St Vincent's, the other to Ballyboden St Enda's.
"[The championship] will certainly be an aim because if you are not moving forward you are stagnating.
"I will be certainly looking at us getting to the last four of the championship this year."
