
Ballinlough were champions in a hard fought season. We pick our stand out players in the Intermediate Football Championship.
1 David Jennings Dunderry. As usual solid and dependable. Kept his defence on their toes and only conceded a single goal in the group stages as Dunderry reached the quarter final.
2 Benji Smith Ballinlough. Great at reading the game, always willing to support and his turn of pace was a massive addition to the Intermediate Champions going forward.
3 Podge Muldoon Ballinlough. One of the most consistent performers in the Intermediate grade this year. Manned the square to great effect and captained the Reds to Mattie McDonnell Cup glory.

4 Mickey Burke Longwood. Another great club championship year for the county man in the black and white jersey The heartbeat of this Longwood team. His ability to play in any position a vital asset.
5 Colm Mallen Ballinlough. One that will be on Mick O'Dowd's radar. Won so much breaking ball for the north Meath boys this year and his left boot kicked some crucial scores.
6 Nicky Judge Ballinabrackey. Very commanding at number 6 all year for the Bracks as they marched to the final. Drove his team on at every opportunity.

7 Lorcan Maguire Ballinlough. A massive plus for 'The Lough' as Maguire returned to the fold from his travels. Strong in the tackle, clever on the ball and chipped in with crucial points.
8 Damien Carroll Ballinbrackey. Always shone despite being the centre of attention in most games. His scores were crucial as Ballinabrackey made it to the final.
9 Peadar Byrne Ballinlough. The stand out performer in this year's championship. His goal just before the break in the semi final against Castletown was typical of the former county man. Kicked eight points in the final.
10 Kenny Smith Castletown. Brilliant work rate from the half forward through the championship campaign. Scored six points against Ballinlough in the semi final.

11 Bryan McMahon Ratoath. The county forward tormented most defences this year as the pre-championship favourites made it to the semi final.
12 Seanie Geraghty Ballinlough. A very important link man as Ballinlough claimed outright honours. His ball carrying ability and vital scores had a major bearing on the Reds march to glory.
13 Daire Rowe Syddan. The Meath minor was always on the scoresheet. Outstanding as Syddan topped their group. Gave an exhibition against Trim in the group stages at Simonstown scoring 1-6 out of 1-12.

14 Barry Smith Castletown. Hit some very impressive tallies for Castletown as they reached the semi final. Six points against St Colmcilles in the quarter final and 2-4 against Longwood in the group stages to mention but a few.
15 Michael Newman Kilmainham. Single handedly kept Kilmainham in the Intermediate grade. The county man missed the early rounds of the group games but came back with a vengeance to score 2-19 over the two relegation playoff games.
