Cortown take on St Peters Dunboyne in the Teach na Teamhrach Meath Junior Football Championship final this Saturday at Pairc Tailteann.
Favourites Cortown have to go back to 1993 for their last Junior success while Dunboyne brought home the Ginnity Cup in 1989.
Ironically Cortown defeated Dunboynes second string in that '93 final. Since both clubs have won Intermediate titles, Dunboyne in 1992 and Cortown 1996.
St Peters went on to gain senior honours in 1998 and 2005. Dunboyne still remain a senior club while Cortown, after some outstanding performances in the top grade, have fallen on leaner times, slipping back to the junior ranks.
Will history repeat itself on Saturday?
Con Cleary and his Cortown charges have come through Group B unbeaten, with some fine wins over Summerhill, Dunshaughlin and Curraha. St Peters finished second to Drumconrath in Group A within three wins and a draw.
