HL1: Trim have two to spare over Killyon

Trim hurlers beat Killyon in the 5th round senior hurling league in sunny Killyon on Saturday evening. The teams were evenly matched throughout the match with the town side getting the vital winning scores in the last five minutes. The teams were level on eight accession's during the match. Trim's Damo McGee and Killyon's Keith Keoghan were the chief marks men over the hour with McGee scoring nine of the reds thirteen points.

The sides were level at half time six points each.

Trim started brightly in the second half with great points from play from Damo McGee and Aaron Winters. Killyon repleid with a nice point from play from David Realigh.Both sides tagged on points until Aaron Winters and Damo McGee scored the two winning points in the 26th and 28th minute.

Ciaran Joyce was the driving force of the town side, playing at center back Joyce thwarted the Killyon team attack time and time again turning brilliant defending into scoring opportunities for his team. He gave a virtuosa performance in the number six jersey and caped a fabulous display with a marvelous long range point from play. Behind him David Foley was rock solid and cleared his lines with ease and gave a great display of full back play. Other stars for Trim on the night were Andrew O'Brien,Darragh Kennedy,Aaron Winters and Eolann Harington.
