Ballina stadium in line for GAA grant aid
September 30, 2010
James Stephens Park in Ballina could be in line to receive grant aid from the GAA in order to continue upgrades, according to a report in Mayo this week.
The Western People reports that under GAA grant procedures, counties can apply to the Association for grant aid to upgrade venues for use as secondary county grounds.
With a capacity of 6000, Ballina Stephenites' James Stephens Park could be in line for grant aid, although the club and Mayo GAA must wait until next year to apply as work is currently ongoing at the stadium and grants cannot be approved for ongoing projects.
