St. Patrick's
R.I.P.
George Lynch who has died recently played underage hurling for St. Patrick's he was a member of the St. Patrick's minor hurling team that defeated Treaty Sarsfield's in 1947 City minor hurling semi final but lost the final to Claughaun 5-03 to 3-04. Shortly afterwards he emigrated to England and on return he worked with Limerick County council and lived in Fedamore. George grew up in the Fairgreen an area that gave great families to St. Patrick's e.g. Kenneally's, Lipper's, McCarthy's, Carey's Sim's, O Connell's etc. Incidentally a Son in Law of George, Mick Donegan played in a County junior football final for St. Patrick's.

Sympathy:
The officers, players and supporters of Newcastle West GAA Club would like to extend their deepest sympathy to the O'Neill family of Garnish and their friends on the death Don O'Neill, formerly of Garnish, West Cork, and Newcastle West. Don was a proud Cork man who moved to Newcastle West 33 years ago and played for a number of years for Newcastle West GAA club. His conversations and rivalry talk will be missed by many people in Newcastle West, especially when the inter-county championship campaign comes upon us. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam.
