Kilkenny County Board admits there will be no short-term fix when it comes to replacing the roof of the Nowlan Park Stand.

The roof was ripped off the old stand during the recent storms and was conspicuous by its absence for Sunday's Division 1A classic against Tipperary.

The Cats have two more home league games this year - against Galway on Sunday week and against Waterford on March 23rd - and it has been confirmed that there will be no covered accommodation on the O'Loughlin Road side of the grounds for these games either.

Using the other three covered areas of the grounds, Kilkenny will still have a capacity of 18,000.

The Board has sought legal advice on the best way forward and the roof is not going to be replaced in the short term:

"We have already applied to Kilkenny County Council to build a new roof on the stand and until that is sorted nothing can be done," chairman Ned Quinn told The Kilkenny People.
