The Ballykelly u7 team that took part in the southboard u7 blitz at the weekend
The Monasterevin u12 girls community games team play their all ireland semi final this weekend 14/15 August. Ballykelly have a huge representation on this 20 player panel with Alanna McLoughlin, Aine Nash, Amy Nash, Julia Marron, Sarah Hanlon, Claire Melia, Claire Earley, Aishling Kehoe, Caoimhe Holligan, Anna Delaney and Laura Cleary making up 11 of the panel. The rest of the panel is made up with Kildangan 8 and Monasterevin 1. We'd like to wish a ll the players and management the best of luck in the semi against Ballyborrow of Cavan in Athlone at 2.30
Our minor lads have made the knockout stages of the Minor Championship and have drawn Sarsfields B in the Qtr final. We dont have a date or venue for this game but we'll let you know as soon as we know
Our u7 team wellcomed Milltown and Rheban to Stephen O Rourke Memorial Park on Saturday for a southboard arranged blitz. All player aqquired themselves really well in all games and no doubt some future county players were on display
Mini sevens/go games competitions are sponsored by Cumann Luthchleas Gael and the Irish National teachers organisation through Cumann na Mbunscoil. Two local girls have been selected to participate in a demonstration game which will take place at half time during the all Ireland senior football semi final game between Dublin and cork at croke park on Sunday 22nd august 2010. They are Julia marron (Ballykelly) and Lauren K elly (Kildangan/Nurney) who both attend Scoil Eimhin Naofa in Monasterevin. Both girls are part of the Monasterevin Community games girls u12 team who as Leinster champions, will be hoping to go one step further than last year by winning the all Ireland title for Monasterevin, Kildare and Leinster. Ballykelly would like to wish both girls well in this game
Congratulations to our own Julia Marron who has been chosen to take the field at half time in the all ireland semi final between Cork and Dublin in two weeks. Julia will play in a primary school representation and was chosen from a long list of names so well done to her. All in Ballykelly wish her well

Our senior lads had wins over Bracknagh and Clonblouge in recent days as they prepare for the next championship outing. With Kildare going so well it remains to be seen whether or not the club championship gets the go ahead as planned. We would doubt their would be many complaints if it doesn't. Cill Dara Abu
Championship time is just around the corner with our girls hoping to build on a very successful league campaign which just endd in defeat to Carbury in the final. Ballykelly Gfc will be holding another CUL Camp this year. Last year it returned to the club from a number of years away and turned out to be a huge success. Its coming back from the 16th to the 20th of August Vhi GAA Cúl Camps provide boys and girls - between the ages of 7 and 13 - with an action-packed and fun-filled week of activity during the summer holidays which revolves around maximising enjoyment and sustaining participant involvement in Gaelic Games Activities are GAME - BASED - a strong emphasis is placed on skill acquisition - and are organised in an age appropriate manner with a view to: optimising learning enhancing friendships improving physical & psychological well being promoting school and club links KEY FEATURES ABOUT Vhi GAA Cúl Camps The camps are structured so that a different aspect of the game is worked on each day. The programme involves coaching specific skills of the game and the opportunity for children to put into practice what they have learned through small sided games. On the last day of the camp a "blitz" will be organised to provide each child with an introduction to competitive games. Vhi Cúl Camps - are run throughout the summer from Monday to Friday, 10.00am to 2.30pm. (see Camp venues for dates). TimeTable Vhi Cúl Camps - are run throughout the summer from Monday to Friday, 10.00am to 2.30pm. Attendance is open to primary school children aged 7 years to 13 years. There will also be special rates for familys with more than one child attending the camp for the week. We'll keep you posted leading up to it.
