Kilkenny and Offaly dominate Leinster TEAM 25

Seven Kilkenny players have been included on the Leinster TEAM 25 hurling selection. Offaly are also well represented with five players, while Wexford's three representatives make up the rest of the team. The selection includes the best players in the Leinster hurling championship over the last 25 years as voted for by the public. Among the current players included are: Damien Fitzhenry (Wexford) and the Kilkenny sextet of Michael Kavanagh, Noel Hickey, JJ Delaney, Henry Shefflin, Tommy Walsh and Eddie Brennan. Offaly's Brian Whelahan, who was the only modern-day player to be included on the GAA's Team of the Millennium, is chosen at right half back, while Offaly brothers Joe and Johnny Dooley have also made the selection. The Leinster TEAM 25 is: Damien Fitzhenry (Wexford); Michael Kavanagh (Kilkenny), Noel Hickey (do), Martin Hanamy (Offaly); Brian Whelahan (do), Liam Dunne (Wexford), JJ Delaney (Kilkenny); George O'Connor (Wexford), Jaoachim Kelly (Offaly); Johnny Dooley (Offaly), Henry Shefflin (Kilkenny), Tommy Walsh (Kilkenny); Eddie Brennan (Kilkenny), DJ Carey (do), Joe Dooley (Offaly).
