Jimmy Barry-Murphy was a happy man after Cork ended their eight-year wait for Munster SHC honours.
The veteran manager praised his players for coming back from the disappointment of losing last year's All-Ireland final after a replay to claim their first provincial title since 2006.
"Losing two finals was hard for the lads to takes, but they bounced back in fairness this year," JBM said in an interview with RTE.
"It's great to get some silverware at last. I'm very, very proud for the players and their families. It's great for them."
The St. Finbarr's clubman admitted that Cork were fortunate to go into the break level after playing against the wind in the first half.
"We were happy enough to be level at half-time," he continued.
"We didn't think we had played particularly well and Limerick had a couple of wides as well. They could have gone in leading by two or three points so I thought the scoreline at half-time maybe flattered us.
"It took a while to get going in the second half, we had some very bad wides, but the goals were obviously the crucial difference at the end of the day."
