First of all can i just say it is absolutely fantastic that the league is back again and although as an old fashioned Dubs fan i would rather be playing Kerry under lights in Parnell park , I can completely understand the benefits of playing in Croke Park. Its been a very enjoyable last few months for us Dublin fans and to open the league up on Saturday night with a repeat of "that" final is great. Last year is done and dusted and the start of the NFL divisions 1,2,3 and 4 is the start of yet another year of what is sure to be full of twists , turns , surprises , controversy and no doubt alot of jubilation and disappointment over the next 9 months.

As for this weekend and my predictions.

Dublin v Kerry : All Ireland champions Dublin (Still sounds great and brings a smile to my face even typing those words) welcome Kerry to croker. Always a fantastic occasion, Both sides wont be full strength, Will be interesting to see how both approach the game , Will Kerry be hell bent on revenge , Will Dublin still be in partymode dispite comments to the contrary from McMenamon , MacAuley and Alan Brogan recently ? , Going to go with the heart though and predict a Dubs win.

Laois v Mayo : Have a feeling this will be the game of round one. I reckon Mayo will kick on this year and could possibly get to a league final. I predict a Mayo win.

Down v Donegal : Question here will be will Donegal suffer from second season syndrome , I can think of easier games to start off against rather than an Ulster derby against Down. I will go for Donegal though.

Armagh v Cork : I predict the shock of round one will be Armagh to beat Cork.

Down v Donegal.................Down (The Mourne men have more firepower)

Armagh v Cork...................Cork (A tentative call because their could well be an upset here. Armagh are never easily beat at home but Cork should eventually prove too good)
