What way do you think it will go? I'd fancy Tyrone after their performance today ...

Makes for a fascinating final all the same, pleased for the young Red Hands, its all good experience and as the saying goes, every journey starts with a single step.

Here's hoping that a callow Tyrone team gain all the experience they want and more besides next Saturday! Derry are looking solid and workmanlike so far without pulling up any trees and I don't think Tyrone beating a Fermanagh team who collapsed in the second half tells us an awful lot either. I would expect the final to be a good deal faster-paced and harder hitting than the two games we saw today.

Kind of sensing a little bit of denialon here by the posters from Donegal and Dublin. Perhaps both want to think Tyrone as a force are dead and buried when the reality is so very much different!

Flip a coin on this one I'd say

If it is as good a game as last years final then it will be worth the waiting for. Best thing to come out of it for both teams is more competitive action prior to the league campaign.

i'd say there's a fair chance things will get very hot and heavy as they usually do in tyrone derry games..of course the tv cameras will be there, and the nation will be wringing it's hands as usual about northern football...i do know one thing it will be full blooded, and nothing left on the pitch from both sets of players..the only thing is both teams will be looking at suspensions for key players in the aftermatch after the ballyhoo again about northern football

Based on yesterdays performances you would have to go for Derry, they put in a serious workrate for 70 minutes against Down and should have won by more. It will be a different Tyrone team for the final, Harte will return to the tried and tested players like Penrose, O'Neill, McMahon - a lot of the young guns will make way for that.

Should be good preparation for the opening league games, will depend on the lineups but going on yesterday's outings i would fancy Derry to win.

TG4 have confirmed they are showing this one on Saturday night, coverage starts at 7.15PM

Should be a tasty match, both sides still missing some big names (i.e Sean Cavanagh, Conor Gormley for Tyrone & Eoin Bradley, Enda Muldoon for Derry).
Derry beat Tyrone twice last year yet I fancy Tyrone to win this one with a bit to spare. The Tyrone rebuilding process is well underway with several new comers catching the eye. Tyrone look to have considerably more quality across their panel to deal with a few absentee's, whilst their fitness levels are significantly more superior than they were in 2010 & 2011 at this time of year. Harte et al obviously tiring of playing catch up on the fitness stakes, as the season progresses.

The newer talent on the Derry panel seems to be of a more industrious player, as opposed to naturally gifted footballers. Derry will attempt to crowd out everything in their own 45 and play a counter attacking game, so much will depend on the opening exchanges. If Tyrone go ahead it will force Derry out, yet if Derry get their noses in front it will be a dire dogged affair where Derry could well come out victorious.

Tyrone likely to win by a margin of 3 to 5 points.
Tempers Guaranteed to fray.

Wonder who the referee will be, he could play a big role in this one.

Are there rumours going around that Derry are now playing Donegal type football? If ye can't beat em, join em type of thing. I hope this is not true because we dont need another Donegal, please no!

cacsmckilly - i would honestly say its more like the Tyrone style. Brennan still wants to put up high scores, just conceed a bit less in the process I feel!

cacs, a couple of quotes from Brennan on the main page should reassure you we wont be another Donegal, im in agreeance with you (funilly enough) that thats the last thing I want to see happen.

"But I'm here for the good of the game and the good of the team. I'm a GAA man." ""My job is to put a team out to entertain very good GAA supporters."
