Irish GAA Fans Abroad

(Oldest Posts First)

Ladies and gents,

If anyone has lived overseas for a period of time, they will know that trying to stream GAA games via rte/ internet is generally a pain.
Does anyone know what's the best way to go about watching games online? This weekends action is on RTE player but I can't view it as it's only available to an Irish ip address.

Ways around this? Keep in mind an irish pub nearby isnt an option

go to overplay.net and register it costs about 6euro a month but then you can easily change your ip address to a irish one and look at rte live on line. its quite straight forwar and once you have decent broadband works excellant

cheers for ideas- tried the irish ip address before- just too slow.
usually use my p2p or atdhe for soccer/rugby etc but they dont usually have gaelic on.
looks like the only way is to pay €6 for that deal

I use overplay too and it's extremely simple and so far the quality has been good. Well worth the money.

I became a GAA fan after spending about 2 months in Galway during the summer of 2008. On a whim I went with some friends to the Cork/Galway match in Thurles and instantly became hooked on the sport. Since arriving back home in the states I have been having a difficult time finding live matches or replays online. I found a channel on youtube that shows the Sunday Sport highlights of matches, just the goals and some commentary. It has been nice, but with the recent Galway successes this spring, I want to follow the action. I found a link on Setenta that requires a few of $20US per match, I'm tempted to spend the money, but was wondering if anyone knows of a place online for someone in the US to watch live matches for free or a minimal subscription fee.
