Why are the new Dublin Jerseys being blocked in US

(Oldest Posts First)

Girlfriend tried to order the new Dublin Jersey for me from Elvery's but finding that because of some copyright crap they can not be shipped. Cannot open the link to the new Jersey on the O'Neills site. Anyone know whats going on??

Its to do with the three stripes. The cant sell their stuff with the 3 stripes outside the country.
Probably since adidas copied them & then copyright the stripes as trademard of whatever.
If you ever look at any of the northern teams training gear or hoodies/t-shirts etc, they dont have the three stripes, instead they have 2 stripes with oneills wrote in the middle to replicate 3 stripes. (Que Dell to say this is an anti-tyrone policy)
They made a special dublin jersy last season for sale abroad which had only 2 stripes.

There will be one available in 6-8 weeks for overseas sales.

Can either of ye 2 genius point out the part of my post that said the ulster JERSIES? I clearly said the training gear, i.e the tracksuits, windbreakers & so on & the hoodies & other clothing.
So I think u'll find that its your post that makes no sense!

its not to do where they are sold its to do with where they are made, o'neills are the only sports manufacturer that can make sports merchandice with the 3 stripes because adidas dont have the copyright in ireland. so the reason that o'neills wont ship them out to the usa is probably because it costs to much to ship, so the cheaper option would be to make them out there and probably make replicas with only two stripes. you have to remember that them boys in o'neills are thinkin with their heads and wallets!

Did oneills copyright the 3 stripes in ireland 1st, & then some years later adidas done it worldwide, but because oneilss had it done in ireland 1st they held onto it here? Something along those lines anyway I think.

Jimbodub,
Thanks very much for the offer, very kind of you. If you ever find yourself in Denver leave a message on hoganstand and I will make sure you are taken care of. I have the brother working on it. I was just a bit confused as to why I could not get it. You cannot access the portion of O'Neills web site to order it if your ip address is in the states.
By the way I think it looks great, retro look and all. The Vodaphone logo adds a bit more colour to what is already the best looking Jersey.
