Dave Maheedy in UL must be one of the best overall. His teams have won just about everything at club level. gaagaa69 (Tipperary) - Posts: 131 - 01/10/2009 20:12:22 442426 Link 0 |

John Mulqueen has proved his worth alrite. Is he not still with Bruff I thought he trained their U12 hurling team to an undeated season. Surely Bruff must be considered a big club! Senior in hurling and Intermediate in football. I heard John took a break this year thus only coached the U12's. I suspect he shall play a more integral role within the club next season. 07_LK_1973 (Limerick) - Posts: 115 - 20/10/2009 12:12:18 460067 Link 0 |

thisisouryear have you some problem with bruff, john is a very good manager, i agree , but i take offence to you suggesting bruff are not a big club. to me its quite obvious wat local club you are with.our club is moving in the right direction and am sure bigger things lay ahead for the stars bruffman (Limerick) - Posts: 8 - 20/10/2009 13:07:14 460165 Link 0 |

my definition of big club would be a club that has recently challenged for Senior county hurling titles and that are an established senior side. as in been senior for a number of years, not with any local club to you, played with jfm yrs ago. thisisouryear (Limerick) - Posts: 84 - 20/10/2009 14:14:48 460272 Link 0 |

Mark O'Donnell is a real up and coming trainer.. Has guided Ballyagran junior footballers to its first south title in over 4 years. His first year involved with a team, must be one for the future. LightningJack (Limerick) - Posts: 86 - 20/10/2009 14:56:30 460329 Link 0 |

i would agree with the last post, Ballyagran look a very good football team, full of hard runners who play a possession game, so obviously very well coached oldfullforward (Limerick) - Posts: 169 - 20/10/2009 16:19:31 460452 Link 0 |

Roddy Burke is a good trainer, good combination with Tom Ryan this year. Another trainer I have great respect for is Val Murnane, serious coach in my opinion. As for football O'Neill from Ballylanders seems to have a decent record as does Brudar from Drom Broadford Ted316 (None) - Posts: 22 - 21/10/2009 21:29:42 462186 Link 0 |

As regards O'Neill with Ballylanders. He's fair shrewd. However, I'd regard him as a football manager rather than a coach or trainer. At one stage he'd taken Bally so far but they hadn't delivered a county. He'd the wisdom and foresight to bring Dominic McGlinchy on board (ex-Tipp manager) to bolster things, to coach, etc. It's a bit like Mickey Ned and Donie Buckley from what I see. It worked Bally won in 2007. O'Neill is sharp! shoulderghost (Limerick) - Posts: 863 - 28/10/2009 17:14:12 468771 Link 0 |
