i'd imagine ballybrown would be their only destination. im hearing from a few people that kilmallock have the four in a row already wrapped up. over confidence could see the undoing of the current county champions. therock3 (Limerick) - Posts: 12 - 07/12/2009 18:42:24 506327 Link 0 |
I would give Ballybrown a good chance in final but there keeper did look dodgy under high ball against bruff. He will have to sort himself out between the sticks if ballybrown are to win! Kilmallock have very liitle done and can only train on weds nights due to most of the team playing soccer every tues and thurs and they won't give up the soccer! brud (Limerick) - Posts: 943 - 07/12/2009 22:33:34 506654 Link 0 |

what a game...................how did Kilmallocki have 6 players on the limk u21 team and ballybrown only 1............and Justin had 3 of those Kilmallock players on his senior limk panel..............and no ballybrown player...................how come james hall and kyle loftus couldnt make either panel??????????????????????? seangael (Limerick) - Posts: 84 - 13/12/2009 22:46:31 512923 Link 0 |
I am a neutral and would like to say this was a great game.Kyle Loftus was superb in the second half. The whole of the Ballybrown defence were superb. Its an awful pity that these players are asked to play this final one week from christmas. There was a lot of talented hurlers on display yesterday on both sides. oem (Limerick) - Posts: 56 - 14/12/2009 10:13:47 513023 Link 0 |
To be honest lads the second half was great. Bruff had the pitch in great condition given the weather we had. But i think Ballybrown lost their chance to win a county final. If the game went on for another minute ballybrown would have won. I cant see the likes of Graeme Mulcahy, Jake Mulcahy, Shane o donnell, Paudie o brein under performing like that again. Kilmallock missed glorious chances in front of goal. Paddy Kelly wont allow that to happen again. Ballybrown's hunger was immense and their defense was solid out. Loftus and kiely stood out big time. Why kilmallock didnt make changes i dont know..ballybrown did and it seemed to work. I hear rumours too that next years u 21 will be played during the summer and finish once the academic year commences. Overall i think it was a good game but i fell you only get one shot at kilmallock and time ran out for ballybrown. tipoki (Limerick) - Posts: 67 - 14/12/2009 12:37:07 513141 Link 0 |

who has been the best u21hurler inthis years championship???????????????????????? seangael (Limerick) - Posts: 84 - 14/12/2009 23:51:26 514074 Link 0 |
Very good point Seangael, why was he not on the minor county team? Also, why was'nt Allaughan Gaels full back Tom McCarthy and wing-back Seamie Scanlan not there either?? Three outstanding big strong hurlers well good enough and playing at top level u21 hurling with their clubs. fast_hands (Limerick) - Posts: 116 - 15/12/2009 01:53:51 514139 Link 0 |
from the well tommy o brein was their main man and that considine lad was impressive too!! Kilmallocks main man was kevin o donnell...still a minor!! tipoki (Limerick) - Posts: 67 - 15/12/2009 23:06:46 515098 Link 0 |

i think it will be tight at the begging lads but i think kilmallock will pull away rather easily in the end...their forwards are too good!! looking at their panel as a whole they all seem extremly strong hurlers..john kelly played very well i ell in the final...i think he had a very bad illness if im right and previous to that the lad was playin for his senior team at the age of 17...the big names for ballybrown will have to perform again if they want to stop kilmallock tipoki (Limerick) - Posts: 67 - 17/12/2009 23:48:46 517202 Link 0 |
I think Ballybrown blew there chance. Fancied them last week. Word has it that kilmallock are getting philip o Loughlin back for the game. He be home for x-mas. He be a big bonus for Kilmallock. Hurler of the year I would have to go for Kyle Loftus or James Hall. both were brilliant. 50/50 call. brud (Limerick) - Posts: 943 - 18/12/2009 00:25:25 517226 Link 0 |
as a neutral i think ballybrown were very shrewd on the sideline last sunday............remember they outscored kilmallock 1-7 to 0-5 in the 2nd half........it will come down to the wire again and i expect ballybrowns greater hunger to win out...........it may even go to extra time............. seangael (Limerick) - Posts: 84 - 18/12/2009 08:37:14 517275 Link 0 |
Its good to see john kelly back on the playing fields & performing well. He was one of the most promising underage hurlers in limerick years back until he suffered a terrible illness. Its his last year u21, I hope he can get back somwhere near his best, if he does he will a senior intercounty hurler in years to come. utd (USA) - Posts: 150 - 18/12/2009 16:32:25 517786 Link 0 |
