Eddie Moroney commentator extraordinaire

(Oldest Posts First)

This is the funniest thing that I have ever had the pleasure of listening too. I remember having a tape of this some years back but somehow it went missing but now I have found it again on You Tube.
This is only a small section of the whole tape but once you listen to this you can then listen to all the other sections also.

We should organsie an alternative 125th anniversary celebration and have him headlining the show. Everything about him sums up all that is great about the GAA.

Does anybody else think that the commentator sounds very like Minister Willie O'Dea the Fianna Fail TD from Limerick . If you listen at approx 1minute 20 seconds on the clip he comes out with;

It's a throw in
It's a throw in
It's a throw in here
It's a throw in here now

This is like something Minister Willie would do whilst he is speaking.

Absolute class - "The greatest day in Agherlow GAA circumstances" - this believe it or not is not one of Eddies quotes and belongs to a man he was interviewing after the match.

I have the tape of the entire game at the house here, Used to stick it on every now and then when a few of us would get together for a few beers. Some wonderful one liners and player names like LLLionel Leonard, The Bear, Lukey etc. One of my favourites is when he said "He kicks the ball out over the stand and into the field of corn!"
