GAA gloves- whats the best buy??

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

About to invest in a pair of gloves for playing Gaelic football, theres a lot on the market at the moment so just wondering does anyone have any opinions on which pair are the best value as regards quality, grip, durability etc..?? They al seem to be about the same price so theres no real indication there as to which pair is best. Cheers.

With our weather you really need a water resistent glove....You cant go wrong with some of the top brands that the keepers wear in the premiership... Millions have been spent in research, best grip, water resistent and they are quite light so you still get good feeling in your hands... anything made from cloth is a no go... Its all about keeping the hands dry, thus keeping them warm. Keeps all the nerves in your hands full of blood and more reactive.

Definitley dont go for goalkeepers gloves...Just go old skool and dont wear gloves...but if you really have a case of butter fingers go for the new o'neills cloth ones or a pair of kooga rugby gloves do the trick nicely when strappin up a couple of broken fingers!

I find the O' Neills pair great. Very good grip in the wet. Gaelic Lite or something they're called.

yea the o'neills lites are great altho they don't last too long. u'd be going thru two pairs a year nearly. i find goalkeepers gloves way too bulky and arkward

Fingerless gloves so they can double up as rather fetching Fagan-like ones for the weekend.

I've been on the look out for ages for those old cotton gloves. You know the ones...Plain, navy, no grips, made your hands turn blue. They used to be on the go about 10 years ago but haven't seen them lately. Elverys had a similar looking pair lately but they had plasticy grips on them and they were useless.... My right arm for a pair of cotton gloves, I say!!

yea the pro-extra lite ones are great apart from their durability. them gripper ones aren't as good but will last a lot longer! as for getting them in all the colours of the rainbow!! not too sure about that, ha

The 3Eightys are a great glove, really good grip and very light, but unfortunately not the longest lasting gloves...Mind you I haven't been able to find any recently...
