Some interesting motions put forward by maccurtains, harps and round towers. I Know personally I will be supporting some them.

Only know of one person standing down this year from London committee. Declan flanagan has his name down for quite a few things!

John Lacey has put in for chairman, that's all I've heard though.

Niall Erskine is definately stepping down, shame I thought he done a good job. Declan Flanagan is a good GAA man but i think he is abit too quite to be on the board -- you need to voice your opinons loudly.

did you see this on the main page, a case of taking rule 10e part 1 of the official guide too far i think

i wonder could kiernans use this after the shoddy way they were treated over here in the minor?

Turloughmore get final re-fixed
10 December 2008

An under 16 hurling final in Galway has been re-fixed after the Turloughmore club successfully argued that the original fixture was not issued in Irish.

The final between Turloughmore and Athenry was due to take place last Sunday week, but was not played after the former failed to appear. The title was then awarded to Athenry who had turned up to fulfil the fixture with a minor board official on hand to present the cup to the winning team.

However, Turloughmore appealed the decision on the grounds that the teams' names weren't written in Irish and a re-fixture has now been set for this weekend.

lads look back to last years rule brought in by kilburn i think it should be abolished ,that any u21 can play both senior and junior , i think this was done to try to keep their senior team a float when they knew it was falling at the seems !

that rule helped kilburn in no real way, when it came to playing st.gabriels we were told the motion hadn't passed at croke park evel so we had to award the game to gabriels having peviously thought we could play some of our younger lads, the club did this in the interest of the younger lads. I think it is a good rule personally young lads hardly get two or three games a year in the underage system in London imparticular at minor and u-21 level. the rule was intended for London born lads as i understand, not for any u-21 county star to hop between grades. I suppose the meaning behind the rule is if you have young player you want to try and improve by giving him a taste of senior you wont ruin his whole summer by denying him the chance to play junior. To be honest ditch i don't think your club would be too worried by any u-21 who could avail of this rule anyway.

well it seems unfair for other clubs who struggle with numbers , when kilburn the only hurling club with a good minor structure to ask lads to jump up and down fixtures senior and junior to prevent walk overs , i dont know if croke park passed this regulation myself but it seems a good idea to me when your senior teams sinking like the kilburn , as for my self i played intermediate all year i would love to play senior champ for my club but its not worth it , i played all year i earned my place there im not going to trade that for 1 game at senior to be put onto the bench because of flyers , also i had more chance of coming out with a medal at intermedite level

ditch. For gods sake the motion didn't pass at congress/convention because the thick paddys didn't realise the difficulties we face with underage in london.
They were worried that it would eventually morph into a rule effective in ireland. Also how does it give kliburn an unfair advantage. Typical shortsightedness. It's to kilburns credit they have londonborn players to worry about. No wonder hurling has no future when lads like the ditch think that you should only play the small ball if you were born within an asses roar of the galtee mountains.

Every club that tries to promote underage gets shot down as having an unfair advantage.
I liked tony o hallorans comments in his report that only teams with underage should be allowed to compete as senior clubs. Good idea, watch it get shot down.
