International Star Fr. Liam Lawton in Carrickmore Christmas Concert

Father Liam Lawton composer and performer is about to embark on a new nationwide Tour which will take him to all parts of the country before Christmas. His only appearance in the north will be in St Colmcilles Church, Carrickmore, where he will appear in association with Termonmaguirc Parish, An Chárraig Mhór GFC and Carrickmore Folk Group on Sunday December 5th.

Ordained a priest and residing in Carlow, Liam has specialised in writing Sacred and Inspirational music and over the years his songs have been recorded by some of Ireland's top artists. His music has been translated into Swedish, German and French and he has performed in some of the worlds leading centre's including Carnegie Hall New York, Symphony Centre Chicago, Downshill Park Toronto, Paul VI Auditorium at the Vatican and the National Concert Hall Dublin. A number of his recordings have received Platinum Status and this Christmas Tour will co-inside with the release of his new album Courage Can Cry . This collection of beautiful new songs was recorded in Prague with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and here in Ireland. It also features a new song especially written for the internationally acclaimed Vard Sisters who have recorded some of Liam's music previously. The songs have been arranged by Mark Cahill, Liam's Musical Director and also by Martin Quinn and are a great showcase of the versatile style of Liam's writing. The recording also includes many of Ireland's top musicians. Many of these new songs will be featured in the Christmas Tour along with some of the old classics from Liam's huge repertoire and of course some of the beautiful well loved Christmas Carols.

On the Tour, Liam will be joined by guest artists and many wonderful Choirs throughout the country making it a very spectacular and enjoyable evening - a real calming treat in the midst of Christmas madness !
