Deely focused on home grown talent

Jim McEneaney of Louth gets the better of London's Danny Ryan during the NFL Division 4 game at Darver.

London manager Ciaran Deely feels that the only way to find stability in the Exiles' football team is to invest more time on home grown talent.

Deely admitted to the Irish Post that London rarely have a settled team year on year such are the comings and goings of players over and back from Ireland.

In last Sunday's defeat to Louth, Deely included eight London born players in his squad, four of which started the game, while two more came on as substitutes.

"Part of our philosophy is to actively promote London-born players, development squad system players and a wide range of players from different clubs," said Deely.

The Wexford native is planning for the visit of Carlow on Saturday and he knows that this will be another tough match for them.

"They're a good team, a well set-up team. By all accounts against Antrim, they were well set up and know what they're doing."
