Connor: I wasn't enjoying my football

Offaly's Brian Connor
Brian Connor decided to quit the Offaly panel because he wasn't enjoying his football.
In an extensive interview with the Midland Tribune, the highly-rated midfielder - who jetted off to Chicago on Tuesday - explained: "That is the main thing. If I was enjoying my football, I would not go anywhere. I think it is really the first year I wasn't enjoying my football.
"The couple of months I was off the panel, I trained with Walsh Island and I was loving it. I was really looking forward to going training and I was looking forward to the few league games. I was delighted when I was brought back into Offaly. I was on a fierce high.
"I was looking forward to going up to Antrim, I couldn't wait for that game but we took a heavy beating up there and I thought the mood in the camp was very dull. I didn't see any real drive in us to get wins. I remember going training some evenings and dreading it.
"We got a lovely spell of weather there a while ago and you would be just mad to play a bit of football, but we didn't see a ball. I thought that type of stuff should have been done in January and February."
