Ulster Junior Championship A point in the last minute from substitute Patrick McCarron saw Emyvale emerge one point victors over Newtownstewart in the first round of the Ulster Junior Football Championship played in Healy Park, Omagh. The contest was tight throughout with neither side able to maintain a stranglehold. Indeed, it looked set for extra time before Emyvale stepped up a gear creating a number of clear cut chances in the dying moments. Overall, it was a good team display from Emyvale. Reserve Championship: Emyvale booked their place in the Reserve Championship final with an emphatic victory over Sean MacDiarmaida on Sunday afternoon. The game was quite tight in the opening stages. The first half momentum carried over into the second half with Darren McKernan netting to put the home side further clear. The result was now in no doubt and it was merely a matter of restoring pride for the Seans. Further points from Martin McAree, Patrick McCarron, Gavin McKernan and Niall Mohan sealed the victory with a final score of 4-14 to 1-11.
