George Beirne was asked to join the squad when he was captain of the county minors. He was studying hard at the time though. He won a minor championship with BHG that year aswell. My player of the year when BHG won the keegan in 03. He had a great game in the 08 a leauge division 1 final aswell when BHG bet tones. I think they asked him into the squad after that aswell. cheifexecutive (Meath) - Posts: 36 - 12/12/2010 20:36:32 831696 Link 0 |

Did Niall O' Reilly transfer away from Summerhill? He was a very good player a few years back but I havent heard of him playing in 5 or 6 years and he is only 30 or 31. Thunderstruck (Meath) - Posts: 474 - 13/12/2010 11:12:11 831799 Link 0 |

Ronan farelly played championship. Its not fair to say the players around made him look bad. We are now in the top 8 teams in the county. Feis cup final still to play. auldcastle (Meath) - Posts: 10 - 13/12/2010 21:31:03 832406 Link 0 |

Oldcastle struggled for a good few years when Ronan was in his prime. He wouldnt have had a great platform. Maybe if had got a transfer he would have made it. cheifexecutive (Meath) - Posts: 36 - 14/12/2010 21:23:29 833126 Link 0 |
Chiefexecutive you're wrong - thats not just my opinion but fact given that Mick O' Dowd was a member of the Meath team for a couple of years and played in the AI semi final against Kerry in 2001, while you're entitled to your view i think you have to bow to the experience of the manager who picked him i.e. the one who lead us to 4 all irelands and knew a thing or two about players of county standard ateuroats (Meath) - Posts: 6 - 15/12/2010 20:36:14 833655 Link 0 |

The corner forward from Baconstown/Na Fianna a few years ago, Paul Hanley was it? Remember him being a great player and scoring all Na Fianna's scores in an intermediate championship match a number of years ago when they beat O'Mahonys.
