From what i seen last year they cant seem to finish out a game and need a leader. So i think they will struggle AGAIN this year

Really admire Castletown small area but always have been a Senior or Intermediate club. Good pitch and facilities and a stand which is rare in Meath clubs

Players maybe still living on that fact and while only lost games in IFC narrowly last year There seems to be a notion that they where too good to drop down which when you look at the facts 2 wins in 2 years in IFC makes this notion outdated. Those two wins where over a Drumconrath side that had haemorriged a serious number of players. I dont expect them to be in that suition in 2010 as I think Carnaross will be for the chop (if there is one) but neither do I expect them to be contesting the last 4 either

Castletown if they get a few leaders and put in a concerted effort could easily quailify for IFC knockouts but I wonder if there is enough gas in the tank for that. On the long term I would say sooner rather than later they will drop to Junior as at Underage they are a real bottom of the ladder club always struggling for numbers in the lowest division.

As I dont expect any relugation from Senior in 2009 or for that matter in 2010 as the drive will be for 18 Senior Clubs by 2011 I think that there will be no relugation from Intermediate in 2010,2011 or 2012 or untill there is 18 Intermediates clubs too.

I think this is the right way to go as Junior Clubs like Ratoath, Drumbaragh, Moylagh, Dunsany, Meath Hill and the now strenghtened Ballivor with the addition of the Kildalkey lads are well fit to play at Intermediate level and there is too big of a gap between these clubs and the weaker Junior outfits like St Marys, Boardsmill, Drumree and a few more

we re not ere to run down any players guys... so keep it clean.
we re a very young team at the minute with a few very inexperienced players give them a year or two and castletown will be back competing at inter level!

castletown arent a bad team. true they only beat drumconrath in last 2 years in championship but they havent been beaten by more than 3 points in 2 years in championship football. also gained promotion to division 2 for this year. i guarantee you when championship draws are made not many teams will want castletown in their group
