I am amazed to see that Meath are reported as having voted in favour of these proposals. I fail totally see the logic in this considering all their Leinster neighbours, except Kilkenny are against them. Anyone know why. lochgarmanabu (Wexford) - Posts: 1022 - 01/10/2008 17:23:14 112166 Link 0 |

I don't know the official reasons why but i dare say it really matters to us because hurling is very poor in Meath as you know and theres little hope of any significant break through anytime soon so the county board probably just said well to hell with it, why not. the reason the hurling motion was passed on monday night is because no hurling club delegates turned up to support TJ REILLY the chairman to oppose the motion. rooster (Meath) - Posts: 11 - 01/10/2008 21:03:50 112243 Link 0 |

I'd say the real reason is that Meath are looking not to be put in the Nicky Rackard next year under the new proposals and that whatever chance they have of staying in the Christy Ring is dependent upon them supporting the proposal.
