Laois minors beat Meath

Laois 0-13 Meath 0-8 Laois proved to be the much better team when it came to making and taking score chances in Meath s final game of this year s Leinster Minor Football League game played in Ratoath on Saturday 12th March. Laois had registered 2 points before Ciaran Kelly got Meath s first score from a free. Another Laois point put 2 points between the sides again. Meath then had their best spell and a Conor Staunton point followed by points from frees by Ciaran Kelly put Meath ahead for the only time in the game. Meath were then to remain scoreless for the rest of the half, while Laois added 6 unanswered points. H/T: Laois 0-9 Meath 0-4 Meath made a good start to the second half with points from Gavin Butler and Ciaran Kelly (f), but Laois responded with 2 points on the trot. Another Ciaran Kelly reduced the gap only to be followed by 2 more Laois points.  Ciaran Kelly converted another free to reduce the gap to 5 points again. Meath laid siege on the Laois goalmouth and then were awarded a penalty, but Ciaran Kelly s shot was saved by the Laois keeper. This was followed up with 3 shots at the Laois goal off target, before the final whistle.
