McTiernan "delighted"

October 17, 2013
Seamus McTiernan insists there was no way Cluainin were going to give up their Leitrim SHC crown.

The Manorhamilton club retained the silverware with an impressive defeat of Carrick in Saturday's decider and wing back McTiernan points to the determination that was pulsing through their ranks:

"I'm delighted," he told The Leitrim Observer. "Last year, we waited 53 to get our hands on the cup and we weren't going to give that up after a year. So we're delighted to get two in a row.

"We weren't going to let them take the championship off us. Any time you play Carrick, you're always expecting a tight game.

"You only have to go back to last July when Carrick took the league title off us. That was the wake-up call we needed. We got our act together and it showed."
