Finian Hanley is expected to return to the Galway defence for Sunday's Division 2 clash against Down in Tuam Stadium.

The full-back missed the 15-point loss at the hands of Laois last week due to a leg injury he sustained against Donegal in round two.

The former captain was forced to undergo minor surgery on a deep cut to his leg muscle but the Irish Examiner reports that he is, once again, available for selection to under-fire manager Alan Mulholland. Tweet
