Over the last couple of years there has been a massive resurgence in interest in Scór competitions by clubs - the school hall was packed to capacity and the standard was very high. Such has been the interest that in South Down that, instead of two semi finals there is now three first rounds with the winners in each competition going directly into the Semi Final and second the third placed competitors from each of the rounds on stage again, in a Repechage (Back Door), competing for the final place in the South Down final. Having hauled themselves out of the relegation playoff places in the last couple of games they needed to win in Rostrevor on Saturday 17th October in the final league game to ensure their top flight status. With all crucial final round games scheduled for 4 pm on Saturday Clonduff made the short journey to Rostrevor and turned on the style! Nearing half time they led 1-9 to 0-2 but then lifted their foot of the gas and halfway through the second half had allowed Rostrevor to within 3 points 1-13 to 2-7. The final quarter, however, was totally 'Yella' - Rostrevor were held scoreless and Clonduff added a further 1-5. Final score Rostrevor 2-7 Clonduff 2-18. The season started disastrously for the 'Yellas' mainly due to a catalogue of injuries but they were able to pull it out of the fire at the crucial stage and they finished with a flourish!
