Work in progress

(Oldest Posts First)

Things moving along nicely with the senior team training and management,
At this moment Val and his staff are putting a nice few honest players together,
I have a few concern at the moment however we seem to have got the middle and most of the forward lines sorted
but should David or Gearoid get injured who is there to replace them. I hope tonight maybe we might see a change here
for as I stated all ready forget this McKenna cup we don't need this distraction. Its work in progress.
looks like a few finds for the back and half back line but sadly we do need to get this sorted soon a few positions have to be strengthened
thats for sure. Some very soft scores came here last Sunday.
I hope we see some changes tonight to give us an idea what we have in these sections.

Do you know if toasty Clarke been asked back in to the panel . i thought he was a player that could have added strength to the backline. i also thought he was doing quite well until dropped.

18TH of Jan and we seem to have the middle and most of the forward line sorted you say??
Maybe Val could lend his magic wand to other counties if he can fix things that quick?
Our forwards scored 5 points from play last sunday and kicked 14 wides for the 2nd sunday in a row.
Apart from Jack Brady i dont see any other forwards to come into the team or panel
So we seem to be playing 5/6 of our championship forward panel in the middle of January
Your getting a bit ahead of yourself as usual Sean O rinn with your undivided loyality to our management
Lets judge things on promotion

prob spoke out because he was dropped in the first place, its always someones else fault with some of these guys.

your well way off on this one. Alan Clarke would be very committed, i know that for a fact. HE was not playing particularly well, mainly due to the fact he was stuck in corner back, a man marking corner back at county level he is not. Half back line is where he is suited to most.
He spoke out because he was fed up of how training was going. There was guys from the Cavan area turning up late for training, yet he could travel 40 minutes from Kingscourt & be there on time. So in my opinion he was dead right to speak out, and we saw what a joke of year last year with the county senior team was as a result of the poor set up etc

If that is true than shame on the man who dropped him !!
There is a ring of truth to it when you see what the same manager did when over Louth !! Left them a shambles !!

Cavan slasher is now coming to light that any player who spoke out over last years mess has been discarded. Because that seems the easiest thing to do . Management have gone only for younger players who will buy into their way of working. Questioning anything is a no no. That's mainly what happened. A few senior players asked questions. Management thought these players were stirring things on Internet forums and they were discarded with no way back as long as the present management are there. That's it in a nutshell.

We losing 2-2 to 0-4 at half time. Took us 15min to get first score and we haven't scored since the 26th min either. We playing a bunch of students. Yeah we making real progress! I wish!

Good result bearing in mind it's the McKenna cup great to see young Dunne getting scores, I agree wishfulthinking it must be very disappointing for some.

Nice result for Cavan-against a bunch of students who beat donegal and gave a good Derry side a tough time
