Donaghy made Bellew look like a child that day in Croker 2 years ago and will again this year if they meet! Thats Fact !

Skillachi & Ciarra Abu

You judgement is based on one game......nearly 3 years ago.
If thats how we're going to rate players, we'd be here all year and could pick on all the great players who have slipped up at some time or another.

He's like any player..he has one or two areas where he's not great...but he's an absolute legend, unsung hero and delighted he's our No.3!!!

donaghey was the child running crying to the referee every two seconds. never touched the ball untill bellew was booked, all the commentators said bellew was wrongly booked. i have no problem with donaghey he is a brilliant full forward and bellew and gormley are the only two full backs i have seen do well on him. donaghey gave him a very hard time of it in the second half but i dont think that would have happened if bellew had not been afraid of getting sent off. he was booked once for nothing so i am sure francie was bound to be thinking that it could happen again

Good to see our neighbours from Down and Tyrone agreeing with Pat Spillane, sorry i meant Ciarrai Abu,just to get a cheap shot at Armagh. Worry about your own number 3 lads, were just fine with what we have.

Well done Sean Og how long did it take you to come up with that one? Oh an Samin 10 i think you will find Bellews underhand tactics got him booked but then Donaghy stepped upto the plate, Fielded a ball clean over Bellew's head and shouldered him aside like a little girl a stuck 1 in the net ! Oh an believe me Bellew tried with all his mite to stop Donaghy but failed somewhat miserably !! :))))))))))

agree to disagree, you must have had the commentary down when you were watching it on tv, all the commentators said he was wrongly booked. noone in the ground could believe what it was for not even one of the dozen kerry fans there could offer an explanation, yes donaghey took his goal well and even if he did roast bellew (which i know he didnt) wheres the shame, donaghey was player of the year and deservedly so, he destroyed every fullback he encountered that year. so you're original point of we seen how good bellew was against donaghey two years ago does not really offer much insight or knowledge, does it?

Great traditional Full back. Theres not too many like him left in the GAA. With Darren Fay gone now. Barry Owens is another great Full back. Thaugh Farnci was class against Fermanagh.

there wasnt a full back in the country that got near donaghy in 06. barry owens got the all star that year at full back because he didnt come up against donaghy. i would have picked Heaney at full back in the all stars that year but donaghy cleaned him in the All Ireland final so that counted against him. i wouldnt say bellew is a class act but as someone pointed out he does a job that he is put on the field to do and he does it pretty well in my opinion.

Two Points,
1. Donaghy only got the better of Francie once for the goal against Kerry.
2. Francie had covered his man for the goal against Fermanagh, But Mallon's man got in behind him and scored the goal.

Francie Bellew a true ledgend! Francie Bellew doesn't miss. If he didn't hit you its because he was hitting another forward twelve yards away. When Francie was a child, he made his mother finish her vegetables. When Francie ****** into the wind, the wind changes direction. Francie Bellew won the Tour de France on a unicycle to prove to Lance Armstrong it wasn't a big deal. Francie doesn't think much of yellow wristbands. 1.6 billion chinese are angry with Francie...Sounds like a fair fight. What color is Francie Bellews blood? Trick question. Francie doesn't bleed Francie Bellews cowboy boots are made from real cowboys. There was going to be a special edition Francie Bellew toilet paper, but Francie doesn't take **** from anybody Francie Bellew always gives blood. Just never his own Francie sleeps with a night light, not because he's afraid of the dark, because the darks afraid of him Francies tears cure cancer, too bad he's never cried Francie once visited the Virgin Islands. They are now The Islands Francie puts the laughter into manslaughter The quickest way to a mans heart is with Francie's fist Francie died 10 years ago, but the Grim Reaper can't get up the courage to tell him Francie Bellew doesn't wear a watch, he decides what time it is.

Ciarrai Abu - if you knew anything about the day tha Bellew marked Donaghy - then you would be aware of what the referee said to Bellew when he booked him.

For starters - the ref should not have been allowed to say such a thing and secondly - it effectively ended Bellew's chances of being successful..

Whats more I'd agree with Samin10's remarks about Donaghy's whinging that day...

I reckon that a lot of teams fear Bellew's no-nonsense approach to their "darling" forwards and that's why people like to dismiss him..

Personally speaking - he's my favourite current footballer outside of Meath..

For the record I do think Donnaghy cleaned Bellew that day, yellow card or no yellow card. A defender shouldn't have to be relying on fouling to get the better of his man. Does this make me think less of Bellew, absolutely not. The guy is one of the toughest defenders in the game and would walk on most teams.

Derek Kavanagh was dispatched to mark Donnaghy in the semi final in 06 and was roasted as well. However, Kavanagh got the better of Donnaghy for the most part in the Munster final this year.

Funny the way some people keep on using 2006 as a case in point!!

Ballboy,

You have outdone yourself with your knowledge of all things football. Michael Conroy, the Davitts corner forward did come on as a sub in the 04 final, scoring 1-1, but has never played against Donaghy in Championship football.

Kieran Conroy, however is a different player. He did play against Kerry in this years league and put in a fine performance.

Yet again, your waffle shows your lack of actual football knowledge.
I rest my case
