Why Donal Keogan should be our new Chairman.

(Oldest Posts First)

With the announced retirement of the present incumbent announced in the last few days I implore on all Gaels to get behind a Donall for Chairman campaign.
Donall who has been steeped in Cavan football for a long number of years has given it everything in order that we move forward to retain the great tradition that we one held here in Ulster. Donal who retired from the senior team managers role would make an excellent Chaoirleach /Chairman who would guide the present manager to do the correct things.
I feel that we should all get behind him and join in a cry""" WE want you Donall you are going to be our Saviour in our hour of need """.

Sorry I don't agree at all because everything in life has a time and place.
the previous manager chairing his successor sounds ridiculous, then who'd be in charge of the team Donal or Tommy?
apart from that one of Donal's clubmates seems to be in the running for the chair too.
Maybe e few years down the line he could be a good candidate but not now, sorry Tom

In the times of computers would we not be better having a electronic campaign, or would that be to advanced for a mango eating Kerryman

They have, but in keeping with the mean Cavan theme, you can take out the nails again and reuse them.

Donal Keogan is a man of many talents and indeed he would be prepared to manage the likes of Redhills who have not featured in the big time for many years. That would not matter to Donal, he took over our Cavan Senior team when it was at a very low ebb and looked what he done for us. But then the man from the Big lights came in aided and abetted by a few and pushed poor Donal out after all the good work Donal done. I am told he bears no grudge to those that opposed him for as he says """ God forgive them for they know not what they do ""

Would you not have a cut at it yourself Tom? You appear to have a genuine grá to restore the counties fortunes, combined with a fine intellect and a raft of progressive ideas. As you know yourself tradition isn't worth a stocking of XXXte come the summer and now's the time for the hard choices.
From reading the board, you would appear to need a modicum of additional support but you can depend on the Kerryman and myself to row in 100% behind you should you throw your hat/cap into the ring.
Remember Del Boy's phrase "He who dares wins"....that could be your slogan for starters...Good luck with it.

Well Boxty I take what you say with a pinch of salt. I always had a dread of people from over past the Goalposts at Bawn.
I myself would consider myself more of a watchdog that would keep people and affairs in order than being in the front line directing.
But Boxty thanks, but no thanks
