Currin v Clones

(Oldest Posts First)

Was at the semi final on Saturday and must say that the better team won - hard luck Currin but we will win next year
Bring back the Dr Ward Cup

Anyway I'm thinking of coming out of retirement next year to play for Currin - my final year - at 30plus I am getting too old for Junior Football - How about a "B" team next year Tootsie and Hogoboss????

Thanks

not so sure best team won.
a little man from Killany had alot to do with keeping Clones in touch.Currin should have been 10 up at half time.
im afraid our lack of a panel let us down.missing the 2 Ocallaghans was the major factor.
we dont have a panel like a big town teams such as Blaney,Monaghan or Clones.
Dont know how ref let Dick be dragged round the pitch like a sack of spuds.and Parrot got nothing even though he skint his man.
Dont know how either Clones midfielders stayed on pitch as neither of them played any football.
Well done decky mc keirnan.for his sake he deserves a medal.
best of luck to Clones in the final, but talking to a Drumhowan man yesterday and he was delighted with the result because there is only one team in junior they fear and its not Clones.

Well well, I was at the clones currin game on Saturday and it definitely lived up to a local derby championship semi final game. I thought the ref got it right this week as last week the two clerkins were looking for puddles to dive in. for two big strong men they go down far too easy. The ref let the play go for both sides. As for clones midfield. M Quigley never touched the ball and dick only scored one point from play in two games. I thought rosco kept him very quite. What won the game for me was collie mc caughey in the second half and deck in midfield. If you want to go down the road of clones pulling and dragging dick, sure it was the same for Darren freeman. I think stinky should loose that terrible nick name and change it to Torres. Two games, 4 touches, 4 goals!!! Good luck clones, and good luck currin in the league

Come now hogoboss stop being bitter - how many excuses did you make ???? Simply put Currin were not good enough in 2008 to win the Championship - blame the small panel or the sun rising in the west instead of the east.

In relation to the panel as a former player i know that the club did not support a "B" team so that by the middle of April/may all the limited players like myself just stopped turning up to keep the bench warm - get a "B" team and the Club will do very well indeed - and who knows I could even make a comeback and take the number 6 from you.

All i am saying is that Currin were without there 2 beast forwards.in 2008 currin had a full team in the league.league tables dont lie.A Full Currin team are at least 5 points better than clones.we dont have players to replace the ocallaghans.
as for roscoe,he never touached the ball,he had his two arms round Clerkin for the whole game.
and what about G Beattie, roastet P connolly and received no decisions from the ref.every time he was in he was fouled and got nothing.during the first half the ref took pity on Clones and tried to keep the game alive as a contest.it back fired.
i aggree that Collie coming in to full back was the big move of the game.
good luck in the final.

By the way,it wouldnt be a bad idea for Currin to let Toome win the remaining league game and take thier chances in a play off against them again.
it would push the league out another week and Philly ocallaghan would be back for the semis,

will ben/hugoboss please be a man and take your beating.. i was at the game and clones deserved to win the game..dick has got away with blue murder all year throwing his weight around so i aplaud darren ward for not falling into his trap and leting ross adamson do to dick what dick does to everyone else... best of luck to clones in the final although i dont think any team in junior can touch this drumhowan team if they decide to turn it on..

Hogoboss,
This seems like a rather wreckless gamble to regain the services of one player not to mention arrogant. The fact is that if Currin depend on minors to win champioships and leagues for them, something is badly wrong.
I dont think Toome will really care what Currin do in any case.

Another semifinal defeat for Currin.

Was it the referee whi defeated currin at the same stage last year, ha ha

Thanks for the entertainment Hugoboss

Everyone else on here loves your comments and just waits for currin to collapse on the big day yet again,

Well now Hogoboss you make me laugh - you whinge that Currin have a small panel yet instead of giving a sub a chance to make an impression you want to lose a match with the hope of the return of one player. No wonder club numbers are so small in Currin with this mentality.

As I have said I would be willng to return to Currin provided there was a "B" team - as from your comments to date I can safely state without fear of reaonable contradiction that I would never get a game with Currin's "A" team unless a substanial number of senior players were injured or unavoidably absent.

what about the d wards treatment of g beattie?
the lad had a stormer had 5 clear frees from short range and the ref didnt give one of them.
just like its a sad state of affairs that a small country club depends on minors, its a very sad state of affairs that a big town team like Clones are getting so carried away with a Junior final appearence and finishing 3rd from bottom in the league.
cant blame the ref for the 3 goals conceeded, but he definately had alot to do with clones only been 5 down at half time.

Hugoboss what are you on about!! And by the way Drumhowen dont fear Currin. Ive never saw someone come up with so many excuses - so what if your missing men, if o'callaghan had have kept his hands to himself he would have played, nothing Clones or any other team can do about that. On your relation Dick - He made a name for himself in midfield for Monaghan ------..

Hard luck Clones - you were beaten by the better team on the day. Best luck next year

Anyway think Currin can still win the Dr Ward Cup now that the Drumhowanian are celebrating winning the Championship - good luck to Drum in the Ulster Championship
