1969 was a memorable season for the Drumalee club on the playing field of Breffni. They completed the intermediate league and championship 'double' and also earned promotion to the senior ranks. In the intermediate final they defeated Arva by three points - 1-9 to 1-6 in a side that included a number of players who went on to represent the county at all grades of football. These included Paddy Lyons, current Ulster G.A.A. President, Michael Greenan, the McCauley brothers Tommy and Fergus, Andy Monson, Frankie Walsh and the very accurate corner-forward Donie Fay. The successful championship winning side of 1969 was - Paddy Lyons; Ollie Reilly, Joey Browne, Seamus Fay; Tommy Smith, Seamus McCauley, Michael Smith; Joey O'Keeffe, Andy Monson; Micheal Greenan, Frankie Walsh, Fergus McCauley; Tommy McCauley, Denis O'Keeffe, Donie Fay. Interestingly the Cuchullains club was formed in 1969 - an amalgamation of the Mullagh and Cross clubs.
