Ballymachugh GAA Club Notes
January 30, 2012The club is considering running an Operation Transformation which is your chance to lose weight, get into shape and feel good about yourself. The club will also take part in 'off the booze on the ball' which invites participants to abstain from alcohol for a month and in doing so seek sponsorship to go towards their local GAA club. Participants are also encouraged to engage in some new exercises that help them reach their recommended weekly activity levels during the month, and hopefully beyond. Anybody interested in participating in either of these events please contact Brendan 087-6898899 before Friday January 27th.

The ladies held their AGM recently and elected to serve the club for the coming year are as follows:

Training will commence this week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for more details contact any player or member of committee.
Ladies Chat and Exchange Night
The ultimate girls night out will take place in Kiernans pub this Friday February 3rd at 8pm. Bring your unwanted ladies clothing and small household items with you on the night. All items must be in very good condition. Also on the night nibbles, make up demonstrations and hair trials. Admission €10 with all proceeds in aid of Ballynarry National School.
Underage Leagues 2012;
U-12 Spring League begins on Saturday Feb 25th and will consist of 5 rounds; 10/3, 26/3, 10/4, and 23/4. There will be a blitz at the 3G on Sat, May 5th and Monday, May 7th. A Summer League will begin on Monday, July 9th, and finish with Final on Saturday, Sep.1st.
U-13 Championship begins on Thursday, June 14th. Semi finals on 27th/28th June and Final on 25th August.
U14 League begins on April 5th with semi finals being played May 30th and May 31st and the final on June 7th/8th. U14 championship begins on 1st September with finals on 24th/25th September.
U-16 League begins on Thursday, March 22nd, 5 rounds. Semi-finals on May 16th/17th with finals on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th May. The Championship will start on Tuesday July 10th, with semi-finals on 24th July, and Finals on Wednesday and Thursday 1st and 2nd August.
Book of local interest
Breifne Abú- Cavan GAA Records 1886-2011 written by George Cartwright and launched recently is a book which contains much information on the GAA in Ballymachugh. All teams from Ballymachugh which played in county finals at every level since the foundation of the GAA are listed together with all the players from the club who played for Cavan at different levels. It is a book, which should be of great interest to all GAA fans locally. The book costs 20 euro and a limited number are on sale in O'Reillys Kilnaleck
