Craobh Rua Camlocha hurlers celebrate their historic championship win
Craobh Rua Camlocha Hurlers created history when they lifted the Armagh Hurling title for the first time in a pulsating contest against a gallant Sean Treacys of Lurgan. The Lurgan side who went into the game as favourites scored a first minute goal and went in at half time holding a 1-8 to 0-6 lead. However a determined effort by the Camloch based club spearheaded by Eoghan Robb and a well taken Fionnán Burns goal early in the second half saw them win the title by the narrowest of margins 1-12 to 1-11. It was an all round sound team performance with players giving a committed and skilful display. In the latter stages of the game the defence led by full back Mark Fleming remained steadfast and denied the Lurgan team any opportunity to take the game to extra time.
