The O'Donovan Rossa senior footballers were drawn against Duhallow in the third round draw for the 2008 senior football championship which was made in the Rochestown Park Hotel last Tuesday evening. This third round encounter is scheduled to take place on the weekend of June 21/22. The winners of this tie will play the winners of the Na Piarsaigh v Dohenys championship clash. The senior footballers were narrowly defeated by one point by north Cork team Glenville in a lacklustre Kelleher Shield encounter in the Rossa Park last Saturday evening on a 2-6 to 0-11 point scoreline. Ger Minihane in particular produced an outstanding display at left half forward.

The junior hurlers drew with St. James in a league game played in the Rossa Park last Tuesday evening. Skibb led by a point at half time but St. James deservedly drew level to claim a share of the spoils on a 0-10 points each scoreline. The junior hurlers continue their league programme with a home tie against Clonakilty this Saturday evening, June 7, at 7.30pm.

The junior footballers recommence their league campaign with a home game against Tadhg Mac Cárthaigh on Tuesday, June 10, at 7.45pm. Conor McCarthy has been included in Conor Counihan's 25 man panel for the forthcoming Munster football semi-final clash against Limerick on June 15.

The minor footballers defeated Carbery Rangers in a league encounter played in Rosscarbery last Thursday on a scoreline of 4-11 to 2-7.

The eighth annual golf classic was held last Saturday at Skibbereen Golf Club, against a backdrop of magnificent weather conditions. The event was an outstanding success which is a great credit to chairperson Alan Foley and the sub committee of Moira Cahalane, Richard Delahunty, Donal O'Donovan, Noel O'Driscoll, Dan McCarthy, Pat Dwyer, John Carmody and Fachtna Hamilton.
The classic is a major fundraiser for O'Donovan Rossa GAA and the club wishes to thank Noel Kearney, a local building contractor, who was the main sponsor of the classic. O'Donovan Rossa GAA club is also indebted to all the sponsors of the various teams, tees and greens and all participating team members who shot some great scores on a memorable day.
There was no winner of the lotto draw which took place in Baby Hannah's Bar last Monday night for e11,000. The numbers drawn were 10, 16, 18 and 22. The consolation prize winner was Michael Collins. Next week's lotto draw will be held in the Fairfield Bar and will have a jackpot of e11,250.
