SHC Qualifier: Aisake brace helps Cork down Offaly

Offaly's David Kenny struggles in the wake of Cork full forward Aisake O'hAilpin during the All-Ireland Qualifier at Tullamore
Cork 3-19 Offaly 1-12 Aisake O hAilpin scored a goal in either half as Cork advanced past the spirited challenge of Offaly in Saturday's All-Ireland SHC qualifier at Tullamore. If it was O hAilpin who proved the goal king, brothers Ben and Jerry O'Connor were also in impressive form at the venue with which they share a name. The pair hit seven points between them before the break, with Jerry's pace from midfield proving particularly difficult for Offaly to handle. Nevertheless, the Faithful County trailed by just two at the break (1-10 to 1-8), with Shane Dooley - son of manager Joe - firing a fine goal to add to his two points. It was a different story after the interval, however, with the Leesiders outscoring their opponents by 2-9 to 0-4 in the second half. Patrick Horgan and Aisake got the goals in the third quarter to end all resistance from Offaly, and that double strike allowed Cork to coast to the final whistle.
