There were no surprises on Sunday in the junior football championship as Cornafean, Kildallan and Templeport recorded wins in their respective group games.
Cornafean had the most comfortable margin as they scored a 3-11 to 0-5 victory over Shannon Gaels at the Athletic Grounds in Crubany. First-half goals from Barry Doyle and Jack Wharton had the Reds in complete control throughout the contest before Doyle added his second late on to all but ensure their passage through the semi-finals.
Kildallan were made sweat a bit more for their win in the day's early game at Kingspan Breffni Park, where goals from Darragh McGovern and Fergal Maguire proved crucial in a 2-10 to 1-11 win over Mountnugent, with Ronan Caffrey having netted for the Meath border side.
Templeport enjoyed a dream start against Ballymachugh at the same venue through Benjamin Kelly, rifling in a pair of first-half goals (one a penalty) as the Bawnboy men 2-16 to 0-6 victory over last year's beaten finalists.
The remaining game saw Kill Shamrocks receive a walk over from already eliminated Maghera MacFinns.
